Coconut Shell Charcoal

Powdered activated carbon (PAC) is a fine, powdered form of activated carbon produced from coconut shells. Similar to granulated activated carbon (GAC), PAC is known for its high surface area, porosity, and adsorption capacity. The primary difference lies in its particle size, which is much smaller, typically less than 0.18 mm in diameter. This small particle size provides a larger surface area per unit volume, making it highly effective for certain applications. PAC is often used in water and wastewater treatment for its rapid absorption kinetics and effective removal of organic contaminants, taste, and odor.

Impregnated (acid) activated carbon is a specialized form of activated carbon that has been treated with certain chemicals, typically acids, to enhance its adsorption properties for specific contaminants. This type of activated carbon retains the high surface area and porosity characteristic of coconut shell-based activated carbon but includes additional chemical properties due to the impregnation process. Its ability to target specific contaminants, particularly acidic gases and heavy metals makes it valuable in industrial, environmental, medical, and chemical processing applications.
